The Wild Africa Film Festival will take place from 15 – 19 October 2024 in Musanze, including an Opening and Closing Ceremony and a day at Kwita Izina Baby Gorilla Naming Ceremony. The event will then move to the capital of Rwanda, Kigali, on 20 October 2024 for one day. The Wild Africa Film Festival also includes a Youth Day and Field Trips.
Following the 2024 event in Rwanda, the Wild Africa Film Festival will go on a global tour through Europe, USA and Australia in the following months.
15 OCTOBER - Opening Ceremony
Join us for the Opening Ceremony of the Wild Africa Film Festival at Classic Lodge in Musanze. The event runs from 5pm - 9pm and will welcome the first ever Wild Africa Film Festival. Your event ticket will include a welcome drink and canapes will guest speakers on the evening and a cultural performance.
16 OCTOBER - Film Showing & Field Trips
In the morning we head out into the field with Red Rocks Rwanda to explore the local area and engage in community activities. Following this is an evening of film showings at Classic Lodge in Musanze. Today's event runs Film Sessions from 5:00pm - 9:00pm there will be a Q&A Panel Seminar. The Film Sessions event is free to attend and there will be prize giveaways.
6 SEPTEMBER - Kwita Izina Baby Gorilla Naming Ceremony
Today is a special event - the Kwita Izina Baby Gorilla Naming Ceremony. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the event so you can expect it to be bigger and better than ever. Join the local community, international visitors, gorilla namers and more as Rwanda celebrates the birth of this year's baby gorillas in an event that is not to be missed.
7 SEPTEMBER - Closing Ceremony & Awards
Join us for the Closing Ceremony of the Wild Africa Film Festival at Classic Lodge in Musanze. This evening we will award the winners of 10 film categories who will take home a share in the prize money totally USD$30,000. The event runs from 5pm - 9pm and will welcome the first ever Wild Africa Film Festival. Your event ticket will include a welcome drink and canapes will guest speakers on the evening and a cultural performance.
8 SEPTEMBER - Film Night in Kigali
Tonight the Wild Africa Film Festival heads to Rwanda's capital city of Kigali. This evening will take place at the Kigali Convention Centre where there will be a screening of the film winners from 6pm – 8pm followed by a networking event to guest speakers. There will be some fantastic prizes on offer during this event.
